Why Do You Need a Septic Pump System?

Many homeowners have little to no downhill access for gravity-fed septic systems, which can lead to a number of concerns including alternative options for septic systems, the cost of those systems, environmental friendliness, and more. An underground septic drainfield is the only choice for rural homes, forcing you to find a way to move the waste uphill. We can help! RooterPLUS has experience with septic lift stations and can help install and maintain yours. Even if your yard does cannot handle a gravity-fed system, we have your answer.

  • When gravity does not work to your benefit, a lift station can help move sewage from the collection area to a distant septic system or sewer.

  • The lift station depends on the reliability of a float-controlled switch in order to determine when sewage needs to be moved.

  • Should a switch fail, immediate attention to the matter is needed. If it were ignored, the undesirable contents that would normally be pumped away can back up into your basement, drains and other areas.

Septic Tank FAQ

  • I am not sure where my septic tank is. Can you find it?

Our certified technicians are very skilled at finding underground septic tanks. They look at the layout of your property and then using a probe rod, probe the yard until they find your tank. We also have access to each county's office and data or database to gain access to records showing a map of your property.

  • Do you have to dig up my tank again? My grass is so pretty.

Unfortunately, we do need to find the tank and remove the lid. We will not pump your tank through a port hole. The State does not allow that. BUT ask us about installing a riser, so your tank will never have to be dug up again!

  • I just had my tank pumped recently and it is already full. What is going on?

Septic tanks are designed to always operate at normal capacity. The water industry estimates that a family of four uses about 400 gallons of water a day. Don't be alarmed if your tank is full again. A properly working system always has a full tank.

  • What if your tech can’t find my tank by probing?

If our technician cannot find the tank, then we request a plat map from the county. Often this document can lead us to the tank. Also, we can find the tank electronically by use of a sonde and locator.

  • Can I flush wipes down the toilet? They say “flushable” on the label.

NO! "Flushable" wipes are one of the leading causes of septic issues. They do not break down like regular toilet paper.

  • How do I know if I am having septic issues?

Common signs of septic problems are sewage puddling in the yard, gurgling or slow-to-flush toilets, sewage smell in the yard, and water coming back up in a tub or shower drain.
