All About the Perc-Rite Wastewater System

The Perc-Rite (TM) system is a computer-managed drip irrigation wastewater disposal system. Computer management allows extremely accurate flow control and operator friendliness. At RooterPLUS, we use this state-of-the-art technology in our septic services.

Perc-Rite (TM) systems are used in situations where a standard system will not work. Our team can engineer and price a Perc-Rite (TM) system and submit that to your county office. They can then approve your alternative septic system for installation.

If you're in need of services for a Perc-Rite wastewater disposal system, contact RooterPLUS and we will provide professional 60-minute service to assess your needs. We can install all non-conventional systems if your property calls for it.

Remote Septic System Monitoring

This system also offers the unparalleled option to monitor the system from a remote location. This remote monitoring is accomplished through either a digital communications receiver or a remote personal computer interface.

The Telemetry Equipment monitors the following functions:

  • High water alarm (audio)
  • Power out alarm (audio)
  • Pump start control
  • Timed back flush of filters
  • Automatic flushing of drip system
  • Flow variance

In the event of a power outage or a high water condition, an audio alarm will sound. Immediately, the service center can be notified via an optional telephone link through a digital communications receiver. Should a flow variance (plus or minus 20%) occur, a signal will be transmitted to the service center indicating this trouble. A minimum of 24 hours storage capacity is designed into the system should a power failure occur. This 24 hours of storage will ensure adequate time for a service technician to be dispatched or for the power to be restored.

Versatile Installation Areas

The Perc-Rite (TM) system can be installed in areas that would be unthinkable for another system. The field distribution lines are installed very near the surface and in small plow trenches, therefore, causing minimal soil disturbance. Also, the effluent discharge volume from each emitter hole is small allowing installation of the system to have very little site impact even in established lawns and gardens.

There are few visible indications that the installation site is being used for disposal purposes. The primary indication will be a faint green striping of the vegetation directly above the subsurface dripper lines. This will permit wastewater disposal in land areas that are used for such purposes as parks, athletic fields, groves, and highway rights of way. This system is especially suited for landscaped or wooded areas around commercial buildings, schools, trailer parks, apartment complexes, or residential subdivisions.

Septic Tank FAQ

  • I am not sure where my septic tank is. Can you find it?

Our certified technicians are very skilled at finding underground septic tanks. They look at the layout of your property and then using a probe rod, probe the yard until they find your tank. We also have access to each county's office and data or database to gain access to records showing a map of your property.

  • Do you have to dig up my tank again? My grass is so pretty.

Unfortunately, we do need to find the tank and remove the lid. We will not pump your tank through a port hole. The State does not allow that. BUT ask us about installing a riser, so your tank will never have to be dug up again!

  • I just had my tank pumped recently and it is already full. What is going on?

Septic tanks are designed to always operate at normal capacity. The water industry estimates that a family of four uses about 400 gallons of water a day. Don't be alarmed if your tank is full again. A properly working system always has a full tank.

  • What if your tech can’t find my tank by probing?

If our technician cannot find the tank, then we request a plat map from the county. Often this document can lead us to the tank. Also, we can find the tank electronically by use of a sonde and locator.

  • Can I flush wipes down the toilet? They say “flushable” on the label.

NO! "Flushable" wipes are one of the leading causes of septic issues. They do not break down like regular toilet paper.

  • How do I know if I am having septic issues?

Common signs of septic problems are sewage puddling in the yard, gurgling or slow-to-flush toilets, sewage smell in the yard, and water coming back up in a tub or shower drain.
